Our journey began in 2017, driven by the goal of enhancing customer engagement and reconnecting with the bank's rich heritage.
Project Overview: Working closely with Graven, we undertook a comprehensive review of the RBS brand, delving into its name, characteristics, and visual identity. Based on their recommendations, we embarked on evolving a new retail banking concept for RBS, encompassing a holistic approach to branding, strategy, narrative, and environment design. This concept served as the foundation for refurbishing 400 bank branches across Scotland.
Key Initiatives:
Brand Evolution: One of the pivotal recommendations was to transition from "RBS" to "Royal Bank of Scotland," reestablishing a strong connection with customers and heritage.
Interior Brand Guidelines: We developed meticulous guidelines to ensure consistency across all branches, encompassing elements such as branding, signage, counters, modular walls, and furniture.
Mock Shop Development: A full-service branch 'mock shop' was created, incorporating all components of the retail design proposal. This mock shop served as a testing ground for beta testing, cost-engineering, and staff training, ensuring seamless implementation.
Product and Component Standardization: A common set of products and components was developed, including branding, signage, and graphics. This standardization played a crucial role in enhancing the visual impact and cohesion of branch environments.
